Is there such a thing as a best weight loss diet?
Well there is a statistic flying around that is very shocking if true: It is claimed that 95% of people attempting to diet will never succeed in achieving permanent weight loss!
Now I am not sure if this claim is true, I have yet to find any concrete evidence or an academic research paper to confirm this bold claim, so realistically this is an unsubstantiated statement. Still, that does not mean it is not true, I for one would not be surprised in the slightest if the statistic turned out to be accurate.

Most dieters get caught in the yo-yo dieting vicious cycle. You lose weight and you gain weight, then you lose weight again and so forth, it's perpetual, frustrating and likely to drive you mad with rage. For a lot of people, diets do not work - but they should not lose all hope, the problem can be fixed, all it takes is some simple lifestyle modifications and a gentle push in the right direction.
What can be done to break the cycle?
The first thing you need to understand is that fad/rapid/short-term diets are not the way to go. They are designed for one purpose only and will not help you in achieving long-term weight loss, they teach you nothing but bad habits and for the most part are unhealthy and potential dangerous to your health.
If you want to break this lose weight/gain weight cycle and get on the right track to long-term weight loss you need to understand a few important elements of dieting:
1. How your body works and how it is affected during a diet.
2. What actually leads to permanent loss of weight?
3. The correct method to maintain weight loss.
Crash diets may work in a very short space of time, purely for the fact that it takes time for your body to realize what is happening and then adjust its calorie storing procedures. As soon as it does, your rapid weight loss will grind to a rapid weight loss halt.
You may not care, you reached your weight loss target anyway - but as soon as you stop dieting and your body realizes that there is regular food available again it will work overtime to get you back up to what it believes is your normal weight. You will find you will be putting on weight faster than ever, if you goal is to lose weight and keep that weight off then stay well away from crash diets.
